I can't believe it's only 11 more days till I go to the hospital to be induced. It really seems like just a few weeks ago Josh came home from work and I was in the bathroom getting ready to go to Hot Springs. It was a little stormy outside and I asked Josh to check the weather radio....I had the positive pregnancy test on the side table with the weather radio. He walked halfway to the table and then turned around with the craziest look on his face. He didn't even see the + sign....he knew! We were both so excited and about 5 minutes later Teresa called to tell Josh that she had a dream the night before that we were pregnant and it was a boy!! It was the craziest thing.
The girls are so excited. Reagon made a welcome home sign and I have it hanging over Jed's dresser. I keep finding new outfits for Jed on Kendall's baby doll Emily. Yesterday, Emily was wearing a little outfit that said "thank heaven for little boys" with little razorback booties. I knew something was up when I noticed price tags laying in the hall. I have had lots of fun getting the girls bags ready for the waiting room. Hopefully, the wait won't be too long and they will stay entertained.
Josh and I have been trying to spend special family time with the girls as much as we can before Jed arrives. We have been leaving our TV off at night and just enjoying each others company. Last night, Josh cooked supper while Kendall sat at the bar quizzing him (she had a notebook and would ask him questions and then pretend to write the answers)while Reagon played the piano and I folded laundry. Reagon was playing Christmas carols and the house was warm and cozy. It as just a really nice evening together. We have also been trying to spend some one-on-one time with each of the girls. Two weeks ago Reagon skipped school to go to the dr with me (she had a dentist appt, so she had a good reason to skip)and I really enjoyed my time with her. We ate lunch together, shopped, and really had a good time just the two of us. She is growing up so fast. I wish I could slow time down a bit and keep her at this age for a while. Last week the girls were out of school for deer season and Reagon had a bday party so Kendall went with me to the dr. She was so sweet all day. We played games in the car "guess what I'm humming?" and "I spy" and anything else she could come up with. After the dr appt we stopped off for ice cream and on the way home, she fell asleep with a ice cream cone in her lap. I have to admit, I got a little teary eyed on the way home that day. She has been my baby for almost 6 years and I know she will seem so grown up when Jed arrives. I have spent so much time thinking about the blessings God has given me and the huge responsibilites Josh and I have to raise three children. I want to really focus on raising each child individually, if that makes any sense. I don't want to do things with Kendall, just because that is the way I did it with Reagon, and the same with Jed. I keep asking myself how in the world I will have time to give like I should to each child, now that there are three. Needless to say, I have been spending alot of time in prayer and asking for God's guidance. I've been watching a series by Joyce Meyer called "too busy" and it could not have come at a better time. I record it during the day and watch it at night after the girls are in bed. It has really opened my eyes to how we sometimes get caught up in everyday activities and forget our priorities and forget to spend time with God. She also pointed out that no where in the bible does it instruct us to "be busy". As a working mom, I find myself using that excuse over and over again.
I'm working today till noon and tomorrow till noon and then my maternity leave begins! If Jed comes as planned on the 27th, I will have a week to rest and spend time at home. I'm really looking forward to it.
Thanks for all the prayers for our family. Keep praying that Jed will have a smooth delivery into the world, that he will be a healty little boy and that his Daddy will make it ok in the delivery room!! LOL
